Have you ever relived memories to the point that one day you decide it's time to share them with the world? So convinced that this story is a gift from above and one that needs to be shared, Paula Wilson decided to write and illustrate her book Finding Out: Coming to Terms with Adoption. After publishing what felt like her life's work, Paula decided to take it a step further and that a movie would be the stage big enough to experience this beautiful story.

Like the journey of a diamond in the rough, the journey from a book to a film adaptation was met with lots of pressure to learn the hardest lessons of an unfamiliar industry==the film industry. Never giving up on your dream sustained Grace in her search for her dream and fulfillment of motherhood. Following in her footsteps to never give up on your dream is my fuel to share with the world what my dear mother, Grace went through to give me a new second chance life. The short film version of Finding Out which is in preproduction is the foundation for the multifacited feature film screenplay written by Paula Wilson to be produced by Stevie Production.

About the Actors

Finding Out, a powerful film about the true story of Grace Hicks to be played by Jermaine Kissick and Christina Love is significant because this husband and wife team will bring a unique dynamic that a real married couple can project on film. Christina Love is of Seminole ancestry like Grace. Creative Director, Paula Wilson is especially warm to the fact that she is actually related to the main character she will be portraying--Grace.

At the heart of Finding Out is Grace’s remarkable strength. After surviving a house fire and an accident that leaves her blind and "crippled", Grace never gives up on her dream of motherhood. Vsiting a Philippine orphanage sparks her resolve to offer a neglected orphan a new second chance at life. Grace alongside her husband, Sgt. Fred Hicks, a Tuskegee Airman, both navigate legal hurdles of a foreign court system, military protocol, and social challenges. The film, Finding Out masterfully weaves together Grace’s fight to create a family and the lasting impact of her decision, portraying not just a story of adoption but of family immersed in compassion, hope, and love.
